Manpower is currently recruiting for Driver's Mates / Porters to join our prestigious client based in Crowborough.

The nature of our client's business and the delivery slots available to their customers means that there are various shift patterns available for this role to cover their delivery times: mornings (06:00 - 17:00), afternoons (10:00 - 21:00), and Saturdays (07:00 - 18:00). Our client is looking for candidates who can be flexible across the times available, however as various shift patterns are available, please get in touch to discuss any availability you have.

All shifts qualify for the basic pay rate of £9.02, but there is an additional shift allowance applied to your pay depending on the shift you are working on.

This role involves going out in a 3-man delivery crew to assist with the delivery of the client's products to customer's houses, as well as the clients' other branches and depots when needed. The 3-man crew is made up of the Driver's Mate/Porter, the driver and an installer. As a porter, you will be responsible for supporting with the unloading of the products from the vehicle and transporting them into the customer's house or other delivery location. Once inside the property, if the product is required to be installed, you will assist the Installer as he completes installation of the relevant product with whatever he needs (lifting, holding, passing tools or other items etc). The client also offers their customers the option of having their used items removed to be recycled, so you may also be required to help remove goods from the customers premises and load them into the vehicle.

The client deals with a variety of products, from white goods to furniture, electrical equipment to lighting, kitchen equipment to DIY and garden products. This means that candidates should expect to carry out heavy lifting and manual work on a daily basis. Due to the nature of the role and industry the client is in, you will be the face of our client and deal with their customers and the general public on a daily basis. The client therefore requires all candidates to have a polite and courteous manner, be able to communicate with their customers to answer any questions and to deal with any problems that may arise in a helpful and professional way.

Although this is classed as temporary, we have had a number of candidates gain permanent roles through the opportunities we were able to provide them with, and we will work with you throughout your assignments to ensure you have the support required to further your career.

At Manpower, we reward all of our staff with the following benefits for choosing to work with us: 28 days paid holiday, Uniform/Personal Protective Equipment, discounts with National Companies, and a company pension scheme.

Interested Apply here today!

If you are successful, we will organise an appointment to meet you on site at the client's depot to register you. An induction/training session lasting 4-6 hours is required to be completed and passed prior to starting work, which will be paid if you are successful.
