A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Research & Development Administrator to join our client based in Luton. This role is a full-time temporary role for 6-12 months for maternity cover. The role is paying £20 per hour LTD.

Description:

Our client is looking for a hardworking individual to provide maternity cover for a period of 6 to 12 months. The key task is to support the administrative activities of the client's Smart Energy's water metering group. The role is reporting in to the Engineering (R&D) Control manager.

The client is now incorporating Elster Water Metering has sales, distribution and manufacturing sites worldwide supported by centre of excellence for Research and Development (R&D) in Luton, UK for the following types of products:

  • Volumetric water meters
  • Woltmann type bulk water meters
  • Jet water meters (Single & Multi-jet)
  • Static water meters
  • Electronic devices


Main functions

  • Communications
  • Preparation & modification of design documentation including Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Process Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs)

Key skills

  • Good attention to detail
  • Creation of Part Numbers, Bills of Materials (BOM) in SAP
  • Carries out changes to BOMs, specification sheets etc. supported by an R&D engineer where appropriate
  • Process new variant coding requests
  • Maintenance of Configurator tables & characteristics
  • Raise purchase order requests and capital requisitions
  • Update and maintain various trackers and databases
  • Chase purchase orders and capital requisitions through the system where required
  • Maintain good housekeeping and documentation storage locations

Qualification & Experience

  • Organised, thorough with good communication skills
  • Able to work with and in multi-regional teams
  • SAP competent
  • Good level of computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Self-starter, quick learner & flexible
