Our client is looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join their expanding team. The team provide expert advice on residential and commercial property matters.
The Chartered Building Surveyor will develop, manage and monitor the delivery of the building process, as well as providing professional knowledge regarding project works.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Comply with all RICS, statutory and other regulatory guidelines
- Prepare scheme designs with costings, programmes for completion of projects and specification of works
- Ensure projects are completed on budget and to schedule or inform clients and other stakeholders in a timely manner of anticipated delays and variations
- Organise documents for tender and advise on appointing contractors, designers and procurement routes
- Undertake Building Surveys, Home Buyer Reports, Home Health Checks and other condition surveys of residential and commercial buildings
- Carry out schedules of condition, provide party wall advice including preparing and serving notices and awards
- Inform clients on the dilapidations process
- Determine the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, including proposals for repair
- Deal with planning applications and advise on property legislation and building regulations
- Provide advice to clients on construction design and management regulations
- Give advice on health and safety aspects of buildings
- Prepare insurance assessments and claims

Key Skills and Experience Required
- Chartered Building Surveyor
- Private sector experience
- Contract supervision and dilapidation experience
- Interest in and firm knowledge of the built environment, including building regulations and health and safety legislation
