Mechanical Fitter

A Mechanical Fitter vacancy within a global manufacturer of bespoke machinery with a worldwide client base. Adhering to tight deadlines with in a matrix of multiple teams (Design, Sales, Procurement and Production), the role requires the interpretation of BOM's and the ability to read electrical engineering drawings. The person selected will be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often working to tight deadlines while meeting the expectations of multiple customers.

The Responsibilities:

  • Assemble parts to the required specification including: Sub-assemblies , Machine build, Machine panel build and Wiring of machines
  • Complete any quality documentation required for the tasks
  • Identify problems with assemblies / parts and raise any quality issues following the company procedures
  • Operate handling equipment and machinery when trained to do so
  • Support in the implementation and sustainment of 5S standards
  • Assist in the achievement of the Assembly operational plan

    • The Requirements:

  • Previous mechanical assembly experience in a machine manufacturing environment
  • Able to read engineering drawings and understand Bill of Materials
  • Ability to understand mechanical design assembly
  • Experience of assembling large fabricated parts to engineering drawings
  • Good dexterity with the ability to handle a variety of parts including sheet metal, machined and electrical components
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge
  • Counterbalance forklift license is desirable

  • Bristol Based - BS14
  • £12.50 - 13:50 PH (£26,000 - £28,080 Base Salary)
