The Shift Supervisor will be required to ensure that all scheduled jobs are running to the production plan and in line with the established processes, that all products meet the agreed quality standard and that any quality issues are investigated and corrected in a timely manner in order to maintain the highest possible level of machine up-time.

Key Tasks

  • To work with the Manufacturing Manager to plan and prioritise work in line with the production schedule
  • To be responsible for the Production Team, following internal policies and process, to manage, develop and motivate them and ensure that they are achieving their agreed KPI's (Key Performance Indicators)
  • To work with the IM Technician and Setter to prepare for production, setting machine's and confirming accurate 'first-off's' that meet the quality standards
  • Maximising machine utilisation & overall equipment effectiveness
  • Identify the root cause of moulding issues and correcting the process to resolve them
  • Analysing 'problem jobs' to reduce scrap to a minimum
  • Documenting the production process to ensure traceability of products
  • The correct disposition of all waste from the moulding process
  • Responding to red-lights and recording all corrective action taken
  • Support the safe and effective operation of mould shop equipment and the production of moulded components to the required standard
  • To actively participate in, and facilitate team effectiveness through coaching, developing and influencing others in order to continually improve our performance
  • Highlight opportunities for training and development of others in order to support faster and more accurate diagnosis of faults
  • Identify, lead and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Full compliance with all company Standard Operations Procedures (SOP's)
  • To comply with all administrative and procedural requirements of the role
  • To ensure Health, Safety and Environmental Policies are adhered to at all times
  • Conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner, whilst maintaining a good appearance acceptable to our customers and management
  • The achievement of agreed personal and team objectives

Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experienced technical setter with demonstrable knowledge of engineering polymers
  • Thorough and demonstrable knowledge of injection moulding process and moulding ancillaries
  • Experience of carrying out tool trials, machine conditioning and process optimisation
  • Qualified in plastics processing to a minimum of IMT level 3 plus end stage test or equivalent
  • Experience of leading and Supervising a team

This position has working hours of 7-2 Monday to Friday and is a full time and permanent position. The salary is competitive and is between £30,000-£35,000 dependent on experience. Please apply online or contact Lianne for more details.
