Validation and Verification Technician
Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the V&V Supervisor you will be responsible for:-
- Assisting and supporting other V&V Technicians within the test facility.
- Performing V&V testing
- Assembly and dis-assembly
- Test equipment maintenance,
- Calibration
- Environmental screening
- Modification
- Troubleshooting and repair.
Person Specification
Education
To be considered for this role you will have completed a Mechanical apprenticeship and have an ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ or C&G level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
Required Skills (and experience): Essential
- Core Mechanical fitting skills - full competence in operation of hand and power tools.
- Experience of working with industrial or mobile hydraulics.
- Experience of working with pneumatics.
- Experience of working with pressure systems, pressure equipment (e.g. Accumulators/pulsation dampener) and pressure safety equipment, e.g. Pressure Relief Valves.
- Knowledge of Fluid Power systems - Pumps, Piping, Valves.
- Experience of preventative plant maintenance activities, installation / fault finding / repairs of equipment and services.
Highly Desirable / Preferred Skills
- Experience of working with Electrical systems e.g. motors, drives and control systems (and how these integrate with the mechanical components, e.g. pumps).
- Awareness of specialised safety topics such as Pressure Systems.
- Experience of working in a test and development facility or within Validation & Verification.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD modelling software e.g. Creo
- Plant machinery operator's license (e.g. Ditch Witch or similar construction/agricultural machinery).
- Knowledge of drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Ability to Machine / Fabricate parts - for modifying fixtures, frames, etc.
- Mechanical assembly and problem-solving skills.
- Know how to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, flow charts.
- Ability to write/edit operating procedures, work instructions and standards.
- Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Forklift or crane operator certification.
