An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading utilities supplier as a Data Analyst, our client are currently seeking a Data Analyst based in Coventry, CV7 8PE. This a full-time temporary contract for 6 months (with possibility of extension) paying £27256.

To support the OD Finance & Systems Specialist in the development and delivery of a suite of high quality training management information, dashboards and KPIs to enable informed decisions to be made at all levels and in all areas of the business. The MI Analyst will develop and deliver reporting to agreed timelines from customer briefings, liaising with customers to ensure that solutions are complete and appropriate.

The highest standards of data quality are to be maintained always. Ensuring relevant process documentation is kept up to date and is compliant with all the requirements of the OD QA systems.

The position is an influencing role, with a requirement to manage all levels and will drive efficient and effective data capture and analysis as the foundation for continuous improvement.

What you'll do

  • Operational Responsibilities: Understand the detailed requirements of the Organisation Development Management team and to develop and maintain a suite of management information which supports their needs in accordance with prevailing data protection legislation. Manage the portfolio of scheduled management information to ensure that information available to the business is relevant and up to date. Ensure that relevant process documentation up to date; manage and maintain the catalogue content for scheduled reports; create data validation tools for use by the Service delivery team as required from time to time; assist with data validation and data reconciliation activities. Support the purchase ledger personnel with maintaining appropriate financial records including creating models for validation of invoices from vendors, creation and recording of invoices to external customers and other data capture as required. Support the OD Service Delivery team as may be needed from time to time.
  • Quality Control: Maintain timely delivery of relevant, accurate data insights to Organisation Development with the support of the Planning Co-ordinators and Delivery team. Validate information held in the Learning Management System to make sure it is accurate and up to date including data being loaded to the Learning Management System from external sources and that data being provided to external sources is accurate and compliance with prevailing data protection legislation and best practice. Promote safety, health and security within own and the wider team whilst ensuring the environmental impacts of activities are minimised wherever possible.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with customers, OD management team and Service Delivery team to support the delivery of an effective planning, delegate management and administration service. Actively demonstrate and promote the Cadent values.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist with the processes for quality, audit and observations ensuring that interventions are constantly evaluated and improved. Monitor and maintain data quality while identifying and implementing process improvements/best practices.
  • Health and Safety: Engender and operate in a culture of zero tolerance of accidents and self-inflicted incidents Promoting a positive safety culture through visible proactive, consistent and influential behaviours; Keep the company safe by co-operating with others to ensure a co-ordinated approach to promote a clear understanding of each party's duties, roles and responsibilities for Safety and Wellbeing; Report all incident, near misses, hazards, taking action as necessary to control hazard as appropriate

Knowledge & Experience

Understand the impact of prevailing Data Protection legislation including GDPR on the role of the data analyst and ensure that all reporting is compliant with best practice.

  • Expert user of MS-Excel with experience using excel as a data analysis tool (e.g. complex formulas, conditional formatting, advanced pivot tables and custom functions)
  • Programming in VBA
  • Coding with HANA SQL
  • Have experience of MS-Access
  • Be experienced in reporting from LearningLink (Learning Management System) or similar HR database
  • Able to present complex data to inexperienced stakeholders
  • Project management skills (ability to oversee more than one key project at a time)
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Provide support to colleagues in times of peak workload, sickness or holiday.
  • Develop strong working relationships with all departments involved in the training delivery process
  • Influencing skills to ensure compliance to Quality Management System
  • Monitor and maintain the highest levels of data accuracy
  • Take a lead role with the development of new systems and processes
  • Identify and implement process improvements/best practices
  • Keep updated on new policies, procedures and codes of practice to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the business.
  • Engender and operate in a culture of zero tolerance of accidents and self-inflicted incidents.
  • Work within and promote the philosophy of safe team working and development across all CG activities to achieve business objectives and continuously improve performance
