Toolmaker

Manpower are currently working with a customer based in Studley who are looking to recruit a Tool Maker on a full time, permanent basis.

As a Tool Maker working at this organisation, you will report to the Tool Room Team Leader/ Engineering Manager and be responsible for maintaining all press tools, fixtures and gauges to enable the achievement of planned production output targets.

The ideal Tool Maker will have a minimum of 5 years' experience and be able to perform corrective maintenance on all press tool, fixtures and gauges and be capable of tool manufacture from finished component drawings. You will also re-grinding punches and dies to laid down requirements. Duties also include refurbishing weld fixtures, identify cost effective tool maintenance to reduce/eliminate tool downtime including carrying out tool inspection, before and after tool maintenance/repairs.

You will assist Team Leaders with improvements to tooling in order to achieve output targets and work with operators/setters to correct product/tooling defects and resolve problems with jobs where product does not meet specification.

Experience in power press tools is essential.

Pay rate is negotiable but in the region of £12-£15/hour depending on experience. You will work a rotating 3 shift system, however, they only down one night shift every 5 or 6 weeks, its mainly days and afternoon shift. (7am-3pm/3pm-11pm/11pm-7am). Shift allowance is 20% afternoons and 20% on nights.
