MANUFACTURING CHANGE MANAGER / PROJECT MANAGER

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue chip FMCG company, is currently seeking a MANUFACTURING CHANGE PROJECT MANAGER, on the Leeds site. This is a full-time, temporary role for a period of 12 months, Monday to Friday, nominally, to start ASAP. The role is paying a salary of between £50-60k per annum, depending on experience.

Background

The site is moving through a program of increasing automation in their manufacturing areas across a number of production lines, the job holder will need to carefully manage a full restructuring program.  There are also activities to manage in terms of increasing productivity and reducing non, value-added activities. This is a complex and fast-moving environment where maintaining safety, production targets, quality and cost, whilst delivering this program of change is paramount.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end change management in the manufacturing area of the automation changes and managing the people plan alongside the site HRBP. This will include leading a cross-functional team from engineering, operations, HR, and leading the consultation on the changes.

  • Co-ordinate and lead a cross-functional team towards agreed budget, savings, timing objectives.
  • Ensure that the project is delivered within a sharply defined scope and that resources are allocated to delivery within this.
  • Highlight resource requirements and escalate gaps to Factory Directory/Operations Manager and HRBP
  • Apply rigorous change management procedures to ensure scope is controlled.
  • Chair weekly cross-functional meetings to update stakeholders on progress, risks, next steps and required support.
  • Develop and update the detailed project plan.
  • Hold key stakeholders and project members accountable for delivery.
  • Drive the project through with the site HRBP to ensure a rigorous implementation process.

The candidate must have:

  • Prior project management experience gained preferably in a global FMCG company, involving change management
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain preferably manufacturing.
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Strong communication skills across a variety of mediums
  • Ideally experience working successfully with unions and a variety of stakeholders
  • A technical background from either engineering or science.
