An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue-chip IT company, is currently seeking a Software License Administrator based on their customer site in Aldermaston. This is a Full-time, permanent role, Monday to Friday then Monday to Thursday alternating weeks, 8 hours and 20 minutes per day between 08:00 and 18:00 to start ASAP. The role is paying up to £23,00 plus possible £1,200 clearance allowance.

Role Overview:

We are looking for customer-focused and keen candidate for the Software Licence Administration Team. The applicant should have an understanding of software licence agreements, possess good written and verbal communication skills and be willing to collaborate with the wider IT support teams.

The License Administration Team is responsible for administrative support duties relating to IT software licence management and software purchasing. This includes supporting the discovery and packaging processes, releasing licences for deployment, and monitoring & recording software license usage to ensure compliance with vendor contracts.

The candidate must be prepared to work on a nuclear licensed site and be prepared to undergo enhanced clearance

Job Description:

  • Ensure relevant Service Now queues are monitored and responded to within OLA's and SLA's
  • Manage requests through their lifecycle, updating records and liaising with the customer and their 3rd parties, and other on-site support teams
  • Initiate Software Discovery process, Software Approval process and Discovery process for software packaging
  • Obtain software quotations for customers, work with the onsite Software Asset Management Team
  • Liaise with vendor regarding license conditions and terms of use
  • Determine appropriate license for customer (networked or standalone systems, and operating systems)
  • Perform administration activities which ensure compliance of licensing regulations e.g. Create/request licenses, upgrade licenses, transfer license between assets, license activation/registration
  • Manage new software deployment requests through the approval processes
  • Communicate licence availability and source additional licences from 3rd party supplier
  • Ensure authorised instances for deployed software never exceed customers licensed rights
  • Assist with customer projects on an ad-hoc basis
  • Download media and maintain the media library
  • Highlight changes to processes or errors to the process owners. Maintain own process and working instruction documents
  • Work within the contractual guidelines and DXC Statement of Work, or highlight any local shadow IT agreements
  • Be politically savvy and understand the concerns and priorities of our customer and our own support teams
