An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client, a leading Global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum. They are currently looking for a Procurement Analyst based at their prestigious facility in Port Sunlight. This is a full-time temporary role for a period of 6 Months, working a 37.5 hour week. This role is paying between £26,535 and £28,500 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience. Please note, ASAP start required (no more than 1-2 weeks' notice)

The European Procurement team manages the strategy for the supply of plastic packaging across the different sourcing units within the European HPC and Foods business. This includes management of current and new plastic closures and caps as part of the Innovation program. As well as ensuring that we are best in class in delivering the basics, we have to look to the future and continuously evolve to meet the needs of our changing environment - reinventing ourselves for sustained competitive advantage.

Purpose of Job:

  • Provide support to the Procurement Manager and the team
  • Support the procurement team to achieve its goals and objectives and monitor target delivery (commercial analyst function including reporting and analysis on Value programs, Price-to-Price movement, complexity reduction, compliance, forecasting).
  • Provide expertise and drive implementation of the identified metrics, tools and processes to optimise procurement activities.
  • Manage supply chain issues (e.g. incident management) and handle diverse customer, supplier or operational issues when they arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and update contracts and manage price update process and price lists.
  • Approve invoices and ensure suppliers are paid on time.
  • Coordinate supplier quotation process and subsequent analysis of results.
  • Continuously improve ways of working e.g. more efficient ways of handling data.
  • Support financial analysis of the portfolio, price benchmarking and total cost analysis.
  • Manage the compliance objective on behalf of the team, track progress.

Competencies & Skills

  • Excellent analytical and IT skills; SAP/DCIW knowledge highly desirable, Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Understanding Plastic Packaging Key Cost Drivers and Price Trends (desirable)
  • Data Analysis and attention to detail
  • Self-Management (priority setting, risk analysis, resources)
  • Results and solution oriented; be able to solve (unexpected) problems (at short notice)
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Drive for team alignment; be able to work in networks
  • Project management skills and good understanding of business economics
