Production Line Operative
Our client is looking to recruit an on-going temporary Production Line Operative for an immediate start to work at their busy LPG Filling Plant based in Lee Mill, near Ivybridge.
Applicants will be working in an industrial setting, working on a production line, filling gas bottles following set work instructions and health and safety procedures. You will be required to carry out safety checks before and after filling. This role involves repetitive manual handling tasks and part of the role is based outside, under shelter, in all weathers.
Candidates will preferably have experience of working in a production environment, although full training will be provided. You will have good numeric and communication skills. You will also be able to follow verbal instructions, use your own initiative and have the ability to adhere to strict safety rules in a responsible manner.
There may be the opportunity, after successful completion of a specified probationary period, for the successful candidate to complete the training for a counterbalance forklift truck licence. Candidates must hold a car licence to qualify for the FLT training.
Due to the location of the business and the lack of public transport in the area, candidates will ideally have their own transport.
The normal working hours will be Monday to Friday, 6.30am - 3.00pm. Due to periods of high demand we do occasionally work an early & late shift pattern. Applicants will be expected to work overtime as and when required, which could include weekends and bank holidays. Weekly pay.
If you are successful in being offered this role, you will be required to carry out pre-employment checks including: 5 year address history, 3 year employment history, and criminal record check and be medically fit to work.
