Manpower are delighted to offer an opportunity to work for one of our most prestigious clients; the position is to work for a highly respected business that offers Engineering and Technology Services to the defence, energy and communications industry.

Our client is looking to recruit a Site Support Engineer to join their team based at Faslane.

The role of the Site Support Engineer will be to advise/supervise the planned maintenance, overhaul, refitting, defect rectification, modification and commissioning of equipment in nuclear submarines and ships based at Faslane or elsewhere as directed by the company or the end client.

This is a very autonomous role, you will be one of two people who represent the company within Faslane, you will be the sole point of contact between my client and the customer, with that in mind you must have a structured logical approach with good judgement and decision making capabilities.

This fantastic opportunity offers a wide range of opportunities, in this role you will be responsible for the activities in accordance with contract requirements for installation, repair and test of equipment. You must be prepared to be a working supervisor to assist in the practical work. Alongside maintaining the records of all work undertaken and to submit reports on the progress of work as required by the contract or as advised by the Production Manager.

In this mission critical role, you may be required to work overtime to ensure that the British Continuous at Sea Deterrent is maintained and is capable to deploy. You must be available at short notice to go and work on any site within the UK or abroad, for this you will be recompensed appropriately.

To be successful in this role you will have experience in the supervision of Engineering personnel, ideally hold an HNC/D in Electrical, Electronic or mechanical background. You must have knowledge of air purification systems and control of MoD Projects.

It is not an essential requirement however my client is an advocate of employing service leavers and would be keen to talk to former Royal Navy engineers ideally with Submarine service.

The salary for this role is £30,000 - £35,000 + overtime. You will also receive 25 days holiday + bank holidays, a discretionary annual bonus scheme and company pension scheme.

Please note that successful applicants will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check (SC level) upon starting their employment with the company. To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years' UK residency.
