Cost Estimator (Precision Engineering)

A great opportunity for a Cost Estimator to come on-board and work for a market leading precision engineering company based in Bristol. This will be a permanent position with a very competitive salary on offer as well as benefits. All work is delivered with stringent quality control to the highest industry codes of practice, both European and UK.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the day-to-day process of on time quote submission, success rate of quotes submitted and cost predictions against actuals. You will assess viability of quote request against machine / personnel capability after analysis of definition, breakdown into core elements, separate elements for sub-contract operations / treatments / raw material for concise pass to purchase and allow in tender for FAIR, Planning and learning curve expenses. The position will also involve liaise with NPI team when transferring successful bids.

The Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience within precision engineering.
  • Apprentice trained or significant on the job training.
  • Technical qualification in a Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive understanding of multi axis CNC milling and turning and manual machining.
  • Experience of CAD/CAM, post processing and verification software.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and manufacturing techniques.

  • £35,000-£40,000 DOE
