Job Purpose:

The product manager will be a highly effective communicator in order to lead, initiate, advocate and influence. The product manager as a key member of several early stage internal Startup teams as they validate their problem hypotheses through customer development and experiments to validate new features that meet customers' rapidly changing needs. With a focused determination to get things done, breaking down complex problems to make data-driven decisions that best serve customers, the Product Managers are responsible for building business and pricing models, identifying bold moves to grow the business in current and adjacent markets, representing products to customers and executive leadership, and report directly to the overall business owner of the product.

The Product Manager will work quickly, with a focus on getting things done, breaking down complex problems to make validated and informed decisions that best serve customers.

The Product Manager is responsible first for the justification of the new product and then for product roadmap and prioritization of features, for timely and successful delivery of the system, anticipating bottlenecks, prioritising rigorously, and embracing an acceptable level of risk to maximize business benefit. The product manager will track and is accountable for product growth, adoption and usage and iterate to maximize client engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume full management of the product development roadmap.

· Assume full ownership and management of the quality control and testing process.

· Create effective and efficient development and testing reports for weekly review so that key issues/problems are identified, discussed and resolved with management team on an expedited basis.

· Work closely with marketing and sales to contribute to all marketing copy.

· Analyse, understand and educate other team members on the changing competitive landscape.

· Flawlessly demo the product in front of prospective clients on a repeated basis both in person and via virtual meetings.

· Create and contribute to client and partner presentations.

· Build product requirements for new target markets based on strategic direction, regulatory, legal and client considerations. Ensuring at all times high-levels of ongoing client validation are incorporated into new requirements.

· Ensure adherence of product to all internal and external compliance, legal and regulatory requirements.

· Contribute to and provides quantitative input to pricing and commercial strategy.

· Contribute in the medium and longer-term in ensuring that the proxy voting product proves highly competitive in terms of capability and client experience vs competitor products.

· Ultimately own and lead initiatives to consistently deliver a leading product and service proposition.

· For the new product, measure and manage client take-up, product and client profitability, and initiate continued validation with clients and stakeholders of the new product/new features.

· Act as immediate escalation point from the operations team. Own and manage resolution of any client impacting issues.

  • Create simple, quality and user friendly training material for clients and new team members.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 5-15 years industry experience.
  • 5-10 years' experience in asset servicing.
  • Strong understanding of the Securities Services or similar business and environment.
  • Strong project management and execution skills.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Experience of agile and lean development methods
  • Team player - puts own success below the success of the team.
  • Strong communication skills. Interacts and engages constantly with other team members. Recognises the challenge of communication with remote team members and takes action to overcompensate

Skills:

  • Ability to deeply empathise with end users and incorporate learning into system design specifications from the initial concept stage.
  • Demonstrated past experience of deeply understanding market, own products, own product lines and competition.
  • Crisp written and oral communication.
  • Solicits feedback on own ideas and views feedback as essential to improving and refining quality.

Qualifications:

Graduate / MBA / or postgraduate qualification preferred plus relevant industry experience.
