An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our Global FMCG Client, the powerhouse behind Magnum, Solero, Cornetto and Ben & Jerry's, are currently seeking a Product Development & Specifications Technologist for their Ice-Cream R&D team, based at Colworth Science Park in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, MK44 (just a 40-minute drive from Milton Keynes)! This is a full-time temporary role to run until end of December 2019. 37.5 hour week, paying between £25,900 to £32,000 depending on experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to participate to the innovation process of a fast-paced consumer good company, building and maintaining specifications as well as having the opportunity to be involved in product development projects, while learning from and working closely with other R&D ice cream experts to ensure best product design as well as legal, nutritional and food safety compliance. You will also write and maintain a portfolio of specification for the products that you and the rest of the team develop, in a friendly multicultural environment with free ice creams too!

Job Summary:
* To plan, organise and execute a variety of project types as assigned under guidance from line manager, working closely with onsite R&D experts from a variety of fields.
* Write and manage specifications and systems data for the products you work on.
* Support technical delivery of projects, covering diverse topics such as: product concepts; formulation design and specifications; lab and pilot plant prototypes; cost, quality assessments; Unilever Sustainable Living Plan; legislation compliance and claims.
* Work closely with key internal partners such as: Marketing, Supply Chain, Artwork team and Finance
* Provide key updates for our Innovation Process Management and other relevant systems.

Key Skills:
* Strong computer literacy with the ability to learn new systems, particularly strong with databases such as Excel.
* Diligent, rigorous and accurate with the ability to collate information from multiple sources.
* Good communication skills towards co-workers and external contacts, both written and orally.
* Attention to detail especially in experimentation, data recording and analysis.
* Ability to prioritise workload against the deadline
* University degree/diploma or equivalent experience a scientific discipline desirable
* Product development experience in the food industry would be an advantage.
