CNC Turner (Programmer/Setter/Operator)

Due to continued growth, we are currently searching for an experienced CNC Turner to work within a multi-disciplined team in the exciting precision engineering industry based in Chard. The pioneering, world renowned products are for the military, automotive and rail industries and require exceptional build quality adhering to ISO9001 standards.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a variety of Doosan Puma turning centres and CMZ lathes (single & twin spindle) in the build of all products. Sequencing of operations, tooling, programming from billet to final product on Fanuc (V.18/19/21IT) and setup requirements to manufacture support and critical components. In addition you will be responsible for continuously monitor product quality during build to improve production performance targets. Work in co-operation with other manufacturing teams to ensure the product is of the quality and standards expected.

The Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years experience within precision engineering.
  • Extensive understanding / experience with Fanuc either 18,19 or 21.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and process sheets.
  • Conversant with both Metric and Imperial measuring systems.
  • Experience with a range of inspection equipment including: verniers, micrometers, CMM.
  • Experience with manual machining, milling and grinding would be desirable.

  • £12.00 - £13.00 P/H - £24,336 - £26,364 (Base Salary)
  • Overtime Available (Paid x 1.5 Base)
