Job Details

BCU are looking for students to work at Curzon Library (2 posts including 1 post for Margaret Street Library); Mary Seacole Library (2 posts)

You will work up to 8 hours per week and the role is up to the end of June/ July 2020. The hours can be flexible to fit around your studies.


Job Purpose


To support the day-to-day operation of Library and Learning Resources through library stock work including shelving returned items and moving stock where necessary.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

To shelve and tidy, including moving library stock.

To clear library material from study tables

To undertake stock work as directed by Supervisors,

To participate in building checks to support the monitoring of the Library and Learning Resources environment, including keeping study spaces free of litter and supporting the enforcement of library policies.

To participate in the Library & Learning Resources student engagement strategy by feeding back to library staff on the students' perception of Library & Learning Resources services.

To uphold and promote the University's core values of Excellence, People Focused, Partnership Working, Fairness and Integrity. These values define the principles of how we work together with our staff, students and partners.

To contribute to the development of sound practices and procedures which promote effective service functions.

To maintain the highest levels of security and confidentiality, and ensure the integrity of all data, systems and networks which the role encounters

To undertake other duties commensurate with the grading of the post.
