Manpower are currently supporting a well established, leading manufacturer in the construction industry with their search for a Technical and Product Support Manager in Leicestershire on a full time, permanent basis.

The Technical and Product Support Manager is required to provide technical and commercial support to internal and external customers. This will include aiding in solving technical issues and the resolution of complaints, calculating material quantities, producing schedules / quotations and creating CAD drawings.

As part of the technical services team you will provide product and technical support to customers for industry relevant systems. Technical support will generally be through office based, remote support though occasional site visits may be required. Support will involve providing information on the correct product specification and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Functions of the role include:

  • Day to day supervising and mentoring of junior members of the technical services team to develop knowledge and confidence, and achieve excellence in customer support.
  • Handling complex, specialist or sensitive queries effectively to enhance the reputation of the technical service
  • Underpin sales offer through in-house technical expertise of specialist products
  • Providing technical support and quotation services for façade systems

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide information to customers, designers and specifiers on technical matters relating to Company products and their potential application in a timely, courteous and professional manner thereby maintaining high standards of Customer Service
  • Provide information to internal and external sales staff on technical matters relating to Company products in a timely, courteous and professional manner thereby maintaining high standards of Customer Service.
  • Team working and support. Provide back-up to other functions within the Technical Services team including project co-ordination and administration.
  • Occasional site visits will be required.
  • Involvement in new product development groups where required
  • Provide training to new and existing internal and external sales staff on technical characteristics of Company products and regulatory requirements ensuring the Sales staff are fully aware of current and changing regulatory requirements.
