A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Research & Development Technician to join our client based in Leicester. This role is a full-time temporary role until February 2020 working 08:30- 17.00 Monday - Thursday, Fridays 08:00 - 15:45 (37.5 hours a week). This role is paying £13.50 per hour PAYE

Description:

To be part of the Research & Development team to support in the role creating and execute test schedules to ensure that design complies with product design requirements and functionality specifications (Control Panels and Smoke Detectors).
Support the R&D team in aspects of the design process as and when required.
Contribute to maintenance and continuous improvement of working environment and processes.

Work Experience Required:

Experience of system testing in a R&D environment.
Experience of testing against industry standards
General fault diagnostics & reporting of fault scenarios
Knowledge of Fire detection standards, such as EN54 will be an advantage.

Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge Required:

Able to follow strict test regimes and report results in a professional and concise manner.
To use detailed product/system specifications to generate test schedules.
Setting up of test environments testing methodologies and procedures.

Behavioural Competencies Required:

Good communication skills and able to be an integral part of the testing and development team but also the ability to work on their own with minimal direction.
Highly motivated, professional and meets core behavioural values.
Competent in PC use, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office

Testing Software experience
Knowledge of Fire Alarm system
Circuit Design/Electronics understanding - HNC/HND
To pick up the backlog of work
Hit the floor running
Must be technical
