An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our Global FMCG Client, the powerhouse behind Marmite, Pot Noodle, Cornetto and Persil, are currently seeking a Finance Project Analyst for their Burton upon Trent Manufacturing facility. This is a full-time temporary role for 3 months working a 39 hour week, paying between £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience.

The Financial Project Analyst will play a key role in developing the financial rigour around the delivery of a large engineering project and support the team in implementing the production requirements by engaging with project team, management and procurement colleagues to deliver operational requirements. This is an extremely fast paced role working to multiple deadlines.

This person has a crucial role in ensuring that the project is delivered on-time, on-budget and at the right quality. This person will also be required to support the site Financial Controller with monthly reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing Financial Reports on a periodic basis, budget tracking for all elements of the project, savings tracking across all elements of the project and product costing
  • Analysing the financial impact of scope changes on the project
  • Leading periodic reporting framework for senior stakeholders
  • Ordering (via internal systems) items required for the project e.g. PPE, stationery, boards etc
  • Reviewing and analysing project spend on an ongoing basis
  • Working with local sourcing unit to coordinate financial information flow between the factory and the project
  • Monitoring project against time, budget and quality standards
  • Providing effective day to day management support to the project manager & site Financial Controller
  • Ordering equipment and materials for project delivery and operations
  • Implementing governance standards across the portfolio, including tracking, monitoring and updating the status of programme deliverables
  • Identifying areas for improvement and managing continuous programme control /process improvements
  • Maintaining the programme risks, actions & issues (RAI)
  • Managing change control process across all projects and portfolios
  • Holding regular project meetings/workshops on CR (Change requests) and RAI, preparing minutes of meetings as appropriate
  • Updating and administering the programme plan as required incorporating reports from Project Managers and the outcomes of project and board level meetings and workshops
  • Managing communications to PMO
  • Ensuring project plans are created and maintained, deliverables tracked against time and cost, and resource utilisation is monitored

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in a finance role or closely related
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment Â
  • Experience of identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages -Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in SAP, or similar system
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • An understanding of the importance of detail and organisation
  • Skilled at managing stakeholders and balancing diplomacy and tact with assertiveness
  • Very good prioritisation skills to balance key priorities

Preferred but not essential:

  • Knowledge of Project Management tools & techniques
  • Experience in a Project Management Office
  • Experience of managing small projects
  • Factory and/or FMCG experience
