Job Title: Warehouse Operative

Job Type: Temporary (2 month assignment)

Location: Watford

Hours: Mon - Fri 8.00am to 5.00pm Sat - 8am till 12pm - 44 hour week.

Salary: £8.43 per hour

Manpower are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client in Watford for a Warehouse Operative to join their team on a temporary basis.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • To unload and check accuracy of all incoming stock deliveries in line with the Health & Safety offloading procedures and company policy
  • To carry out daily checks on the forklift truck and other mechanical equipment in accordance reporting all defects to the Depot Manager
  • To maintain a high level of stock security and carry out the required security checks on all outgoing orders and deliveries
  • To deal with returns from customers in a courteous, professional and knowledgeable way
  • To carry out daily/weekly stock checks according to procedure, ensuring an accurate computer stock file
  • To understand and comply with company policy regarding damage controls and replacement part ordering
  • To maintain general housekeeping duties within the warehouse, stock rotation and product group, cleanliness and tidiness.
  • To participate as an effective and willing team member to achieve individual and team goals
  • To ensure a safe and comfortable environment is maintained for customers and employees within the depot
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Regulations whilst in the depot

Key Performance Indicators

  • Professional conduct in the warehouse, ensuring that Health & Safety Regulations are complied with at all times
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as working alongside team members to achieve depot goals
  • Clear communication skills when interacting with customers, ensuring that they receive a professional and courteous service at all times
  • Good time management, ensuring that stock orders are ready to allow deliveries and collections to be made in a timely manner

Key Challenges

  • Maintaining accuracy of inventory through line checks, in order to fulfil customer orders
  • Optimising space in the warehouse ensuring this remains neat and tidy at all times and stock is always easily accessible
  • Attention to detail to ensure that stock checks are carried out accurately

About You

  • Basic Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Forklift licence (desirable)
  • Experience working within a large organisation
  • Knowledge of stock management and health and safety at work
  • Ability to work on own initiative and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to pay attention to detail, while being organised and committed
