Van Drivers in Gatwick

At Manpower we currently have vacancies for multi-drop van drivers in the Gatwick area to join our team to support one of our clients over their busy Christmas period.

This role will involve the delivery of parcels within a set post code area, usually in a Long Wheelbase Van. The number of deliveries will start off at around 40 per day, but you will be expected to increase this volume by 10% week on week as you pick up the role.

The positions available are to cover 4th November 2019 - 24th December 2019. You will work Monday - Friday, starting around 7am in the morning until finish. The shift lengths can vary but you should expect to work some longer days than others, whilst there is also the opportunity to work overtime on Saturdays and Sundays for those who are interested.

On top of your hourly rate, you will be placed on a bonus scheme which allows you up to £125 extra per week, depending on your performance. At the end of each week the Depot will score your performance out of 4 - this is based on the level of deliveries and collections you have completed that week, whether you have followed their route planner system, whether you have received any complaints or had any blameworthy accidents. If you achieve a bonus, a portion of it is retained in a pot which will be paid to you as a lump sum at the end of the assignment, should you complete all weeks of the booking.

Although these roles are classed as temporary, we have had a number of drivers gain permanent positions through the opportunities we provided them with, and we will work with you throughout your assignments to ensure you have the support required to further your career.

The ideal candidate should hold a valid Category B (3.5t light van) UK driving licence. Previous experience completing parcel multi-drop is advantageous due to the number of parcels you will be expected to deliver each day.
