Senior Support Worker

We are currently recruiting for experienced Senior Support Workers to join us to work within West Sussex County Council based within an adult residential/respite establishment in Chichester, work will include weekdays, evenings, nights, sleep ins and weekends. We are offering on-going guaranteed hours to support a great team who care for approx. 15 residents.

You will be required to support the Manager and deputise for them in their absence, provide active support in all aspects of residents personal and physical care in line with individual care plans, which may include toileting, showering, serving of meals, feeding, administering medication, laundry, shopping, assisting with body transfers and assisting with hoist equipment etc. You may be responsible for handling service user's money or the personal possessions of others and be responsible for regularly handling, processing and storing confidential information. Due to the nature of this role the work can sometimes include contact with service users who may be abusive, aggressive or distressed.

You should hold NVQ 3 in Care or equivalent qualification or demonstrable equivalent comparable experience and significant experience of working with adults whom have a wide range of disabilities along with the knowledge of a wide range of disability issues and the needs of older people.
You should have sound communication and interpersonal skills along with knowledge of systems, procedures and policies in specialist area e.g. protection of vulnerable adults, health and safety etc.

Subject to satisfactory DBS and reference checks.

You must be able to work flexible shifts at short notice including days, evenings and weekends (rate enhancement for night and weekend shifts).
