An opportunity has arisen for a Field Services Engineer, at our Clients prestigious site in Birmingham. This is an established national service contract for the customer with a large scope of building and accommodation services and as such, any successful applicant will need to be highly motivated with a proactive approach. The contract will run for 3 months initially, with the potential to be a temp to perm opportunity. The successful candidate will be working with a team, so will have support. It will be a varied role, so will need someone that is adaptable, and with a "can-do" attitude. The hours are 40 hours per week, (typically 8am till 4.45pm Mon-Fri), with potential for some out of hours work. The rate of pay is £15 p/h PAYE.

As a temporary worker, you would not be subject to the 24 hour call out rota, but if they were to become perm, this is something that you would be moved onto.

Job Description
The customer is going through some changes to their building portfolio and this includes the construction of a 'Midlands Hub' building in Birmingham. Initially the role will be to support the mobilisation of the new office. The customer gets the keys on the 14th of October 2019, and will then embark on a 3-month fit-out ready for occupation.

The successful candidate will work with the existing engineering team to facilitate contractors works, carry out system isolations and issue permits etc. At the same time support will be needed for the existing office from a PPM and reactive call perspective. Both buildings are within walking distance within Birmingham City Centre and the successful candidate would work with the local team to ensure that between you, commitments are met for both sites.

(Longer term there is potential for a permanent role where the successful candidate would work with the team to support day-to-day operations of the new building throughout the day (potentially between 07:00 & 19:00hrs plus some extended hours) and will be responsible for general PPM and reactive tasks as well as the management of sub-contracted works. In addition, there may be a need to support some regional buildings as and when required.)

Responsibilities:
o Provide M&E support to the existing engineering team
o Issue permits for sub-contracted works
o Isolate systems to facilitate works
o Monitor water services to the requirements of L8 ACOP
o Undertake PPM task completion to agreed SLA's
o Undertaking minor project works
o Manage sub-contractors for service and project works

Experience / Skills:
o Good communication and interpersonal skills
o Good level of customer focus / customer service
o Basic computer skills (Word, Excel etc.)
o In depth knowledge of building services with the ability to fault find and resolve problems
o City & Guilds Electrical Engineering training
o Ideally IEE 17 / 18th Edition trained
o Good H&S Awareness

This role requires a drug screen and a DBS check.
