Electrical Design Engineer

If so, I would like to hear from you, I am looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who will be responsible for leading their own projects, mentoring less experienced engineers and also leading both client and design team meetings, and who has a real passion for new technology.

What your job will look like:

You will be assigned as lead electrical design engineer on one or more machine design projects managing your own time and deliverables to meet project needs. Your duties will typically involve:

Working with the project technical leader and other engineering disciplines & departments to establish the electrical scope of a project by interpretation of the customer specifications and other sales generated documentation.

  • Produce a detailed breakdown plan of works and estimate your required time feeding this information to the project manager for inclusion in the master project plan.
  • Be involved in the process of machine risk assessment and design the appropriate safety system to mitigate the evaluated risks. You will be responsible for creating the machines safety specification documentation.
  • Produce power calculations to enable the design of the power distribution element of the machine tool.
  • Design control enclosures and provide electrical device mounting and cable management solutions
  • Work with mechanical engineers to correctly position electrical devices onto a machine and ensure cable routings are accounted for within the mechanical design

What you will need to be to be successful for the role:

  • A min 5-year track record of successful electrical design proven by examples
  • A full understanding of the design requirements to meet compliance with EN60204
  • A fully comprehensive understanding of the design requirements to meet the machinery, low voltage and EMC directives to achieve full CE certification of design
  • A strong working knowledge EN ISO 13849-1 in respect to the design of safety systems, component calculation and selection.
