My client based in the Hamilton area are currently recruiting for a Facial Machine Operator

There are 3 different shifts you will be required to work

6:00-14:00

14:00-22:00

22:00-06:00

The role is 37.5 hours per week paying £9.14 per hour

Machine Operative experience is required however training will be given on the specific machine

MAIN TASKS/DUTIES

  • Ensure that the correct material is provided to load machine.
  • Load and feed reels onto the machine.
  • Ensure that reels are kept ready prior to the existing reel finishing on the machine.
  • To ensure that the correct cores are fed into the machine (where applicable).
  • To endeavour to run the machine at optimum speed continually (keeping the accumulator full) where applicable.
  • To prepare raw material for the machine before the existing reel runs out, thereby keeping downtime to a minimum.
  • To continually check that the product being produced by the machine is up to the standard set and required by the company.
  • Ensure that any necessary remedial action is taken to maintain high quality levels.
  • Ensure that the machinery and immediate work area is cleaned and brushed and is free from debris and mess.
  • When required, or when machine is not running, assist in sweeping the factory floor.
  • At hourly intervals, ensure that the trolley containing tissue/polythene are emptied into the appropriate bailers.
  • Reel covers must be deposited at the designated areas.
  • During the shift, there is a downtime of 15 minutes when the rewinders/fans are required to be cleaned using the high pressure air (ie to blow the machine) and the area around the machine is to be swept.
  • Record on production sheets the number of reels used per shift (where applicable).
  • Retain reel tickets to be given to the Supervisor at the end of the shift (where applicable).
  • Record the quality checks throughout the shift on appropriate sheets. Any exceptions on quality must be notified to your immediate Supervisor.
  • When required, work in any other function within the factory.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be required by the Operator Supervisor or his seniors.
  • Be available to work weekends, overtime or extended hours when asked to by Management.
  • Must not leave place of work without advising the Supervisor to be relieved by another staff. At the end of the shift ensure the staff from the next shift is present before leaving.
  • To be fully conversant with all safety requirements with respect to guards and master switches as well as the need for protective clothing, equipment and hearing protection.
  • Observe at all times the correct Health & Safety procedures laid down by the company.
