Manpower are looking for a Building Coordinator for one of our clients based in Glasgow. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Building Coordinator for the next 6 months. The Successful applicant will join the Facilities Department.
MAIN DUTIES
- To effectively plan and organise delivery of maintenance works, janitorial, porter-age, security, stores and mail room services for the campus ensuring a high quality customer focused estates and facilities service is delivered across the team for which they are responsible
- Responsible for the delivery of the campus's Planned and Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Programme in conjunction with the Facilities Manager, including arranging the required associated internal and external labour needs and liaising with related contractors
- Manage the Facilities Team in the delivery of its day to day service ensuring that adequate staffing resources are available within the college to deliver all tasks and to schedule and co-ordinate all planned activity
- Manage all health, safety and environmental requirements relating to Estates activity, to meet statutory legislation or other appropriate guidance and to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for all staff and students
- Monitor utility consumption and provide regular management information reports for the Facilities Manager and senior management as appropriate
- Ensure appropriate operational arrangements are in place for dealing with any students, staff or members of the public including for the security of all College buildings, and for the management of the campus car park
- Manage all buildings related activity throughout the campus ensuring contracted works and services are achieved to specification and are compliant with all related legislative requirements
- Monitor and control estates and facilities expenditure within areas of responsibility, and to challenge costs and demonstrate "best value" practices at all times
- Support the Facilities Manager on request for and review of quotations received for works around Campus. These works will require a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical services and mixed trades
- Review invoices and ensure charged works are in line with requisition/work instruction
- Maintain records for the campus of drawings, room schedules, asset inventories, incident logs, and any other records as requested by the Facilities Manager
- Carry out review of works on site on at least a weekly basis along with periodic audits and inspections to ensure appropriate standards have been met and that all PPM and reactive tasks have been completed satisfactorily
Hours of work will generally be 8.45am to 4.45pm - Monday to Friday
