Manpower are pleased to be recruiting for Mechanical Design Engineers on behalf of our busy client based in Church Stretton. This is a temporary to permanent position starting immediately!

This position is open for recent graduates with no previous professional experience as well as experienced engineers.

Location: Church Stretton, Shropshire

Working hours: 37.5 per week. My client offers a flexi working environment and have start and finish times to suit you!

Hourly Rate: Based on experience.

About the role:

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients dynamic R&D team in the development of our scientific instrumentation.

Working as the Mechanical Design Engineer you will join the Company's Development Team, where you will have a great opportunity to work on high-level, innovative and state-of-the-art scientific instrumentation.

You will be a crucial member of the Research & Development Team pioneering products from concept to completion.

You will have the opportunity to participate in the complete product development lifecycle (design, development and verification).

Requirements:

Any of the following backgrounds will be considered:

  • HNC, HND or Degree in mechanical engineering, production engineering or mechatronics.
  • 3D CAD skills - preferably Solidworks and Seimens NX, but others will be considered
  • Chemistry and Physics qualifications and an interest in scientific equipment would be advantageous
  • This position is open for recent graduates with no previous professional experience as well as experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities:

The role as the mechanical Design Engineer will include the following:

  • design, development of hardward to support existing as well has new scientific instrumentation.
  • Produce 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD (Solidworks and Siemens NX)
  • Translating customer needs into design requirements
  • Use design theory, aided by design software, to produce suitable solution
  • Produce detailed component drawings and accompanying documentation for manufacture.
  • Create and work with small teams to produce DFMEA's for new products.
    Liaise with various engineering departments
