Job Purpose

  • To lead a team of People to deliver the Crisis Café across three sites.
  • Lead the team to deliver the aims of objectives of the Haven.
  • Support staff to deliver direct to service users and carers
  • Be on call to support with any incidents, accidents and safeguarding issues
  • Ensure the team are responsive to the needs of people in an honest, non-judgemental and open manner which respects the rights of individuals and groups.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure that services are delivered to the highest standard and in accordance with most recent evidence based guidance.
  • Ensure you and the team are accountable for yours and your team's professional practice that will be delivered in accordance with the legal and professional responsibilities outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery or Occupational Health or Social Work.
  • Ensure that services are provided in a safe and supportive environment and at all times adopt a professional approach to work, promoting a positive image to Haven users carers and families other professionals and the public.
  • Act in a way which reflects the word and spirit of the Havens values and principles.
  • Ensure Recovery and Safety Plans are completed for each user

Professional Accountability

  • Exercise professional accountability and responsibility, taking into account the actions of colleagues.
  • Ensure care is delivered in a patient centred way mindful of age, gender, sexuality, and ethnicity, cultural and spiritual needs.
  • Ensure carers / significant others are routinely included in the planning implementation and evaluation of care, within accepted parameters of confidentiality.
  • Use appropriate professional knowledge, judgement and skills in order to guide a clinical decision making process in an ethical and accountable way which is open to the scrutiny of peers.

Quality Assurance

  • Demonstrate a level of professional practice, reflecting the standards of the N.M.C or HPCC. Upon which junior members of staff can model their own practice.
  • Support staff development through supervision and the appraisal processes.
  • Undertake periods of delegated responsibility as required demonstrating sound judgement in the use of support and deployment of resources.
  • Utilise knowledge and skills in a competent manner that promotes confidence in colleagues, Haven users, carers and family members.
  • Demonstrate respect of the gender, sexuality, ethnicity, culture and spirituality of colleagues, Haven users and families and carers.
  • Support the developing and delivering of the clinical governance agenda / plan.
  • Help co-ordinate untoward incident reporting and investigation, promoting a 'learning the lessons' culture.
  • Support the development of clinical audit and research activity.

Practice/Personal Development

  • Demonstrate the ability to monitor personal practice, ensuring that the nursing registration is maintained and the appropriate continuing professional development is undertaken.
  • Promote and participate in developing a culture of lifelong learning.
  • Ensure that all opportunities for professional development are taken and encourage any colleagues for whom supervisory responsibility is held to do the same.
  • Ensure that all mandatory training (as identified by management) is attended and that any colleagues for whom supervisory responsibility is held are encouraged to do the same.
  • Actively participate in practice development and encourage through role modelling, continued practice development within the team.

Qualifications

  • Degree level (or equivalent) training in a health or management subject.
  • A commitment to Continuing Professional Development and record of achievement.

Experience

  • Experience of all aspects of staff management.
  • Experience of management, including project, service and operational management.
  • Experience of managing and delivering to agreed budgets.
  • Experience of performance management and performance appraisals.
  • Experience of setting and delivering to agreed targets.
  • Experience of recruitment.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills and skills to manage key relationships with stakeholders both within and external to the organisation.
  • Knowledge and skills of financial management (business case, business planning, budget setting and management).
