Strategic Purchaser, Weldments

Tasks & responsibilities:

…secure that all KPIs and targets are achieved at supplier level, incl. safety, quality, delivery, contract compliance and cost. You will be responsible for your own supplier portfolio and secure and increase savings and customer satisfaction through sourcing projects and supplier development programs.

You will work as an integrated part of the Category Management Core Team for Weldments, along with colleagues from Supplier Quality and Engineering. This role is also responsible for executing the Category Strategy while supporting the Category Manager within cost-out activities, SRM, NPI, RFx processes and commercial negotiations. Internally you will work with colleagues in our Global Supply Chain Management Organisation, e.g. Logistics and Manufacturing.

Your Tasks Will Furthermore Include

  • Manage own supplier portfolio - SRM, master data, supplier performance and contracts
  • Support the Category Manager and the Category Team from a commercial perspective
  • Lead RFQ processes and negotiations with suppliers
  • Further develop the sourcing and negotiation concept via fact-packs, e-auctions and analytics
  • Support the development and execution of the sourcing strategy, supplier selection and cost reduction efforts
  • Coordinate and align efforts/initiatives with SCM colleagues
  • Support factory logistic purchasers and category purchasers in escalated delivery issues

Skills & experience: Our new colleague…

…has strategic sourcing and category management experience from a relevant industry. You have good interpersonal skills and a development-oriented mindset combined with a good understanding of business processes. As a person, you have strong negotiation- and project management skills. To succeed in this role, you must be able to prioritise your tasks and be a strong communicator as well as thrive in a dynamic and international environment. It would be an advantage if you have experience with welded and stamped metal parts and large steel structures.

  • Have financial understanding and good IT skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Have an analytical and structured work style
  • Have experience with sourcing analytics and tools
  • Have proven skills and interest in stakeholder management and cross functional cooperation
  • Are flexible, open-minded and work independently
  • Have interest in and flair for technical issues
  • Are fluent in English

Essential:

  • Degree in Procurement, Engineering or Business.
  • Experience in Wind, Offshore, Renewable, Automotive or Manufacturing Industry.
