Job Title: Cleaning Team Leader

Job Type: Temporary ongoing

Salary: £9 - £10 per hour

Hours: Varies - Night work

Manpower are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client in Stevenage for a Cleaning Team Leader to join their team on a temporary ongoing basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist, support and co-ordinate a team of cleaning staff, undertake daily inspections and / or audits as requested and ensure the team work productively and safely whilst meeting tight deadlines
  • Assist Site Manager in ensuring adequate cover for all cleaning runs, including cover for annual leave and making last minute decisions to cover sickness absence or additional work requests.
  • Overseeing the work of the cleaning team to ensure all cleaning schedules completed, checked and consumables replenished daily and standards are acceptable, reporting concerns to Site Manager
  • Ensuring adequate levels of stock for cleaning team, requesting additional supplies from Site Manger
  • Ensuring equipment is sufficient, well maintained and being used appropriately by the team and stored correctly, raising any concerns to the Site Manager
  • Ensuring the team are reporting to work in the correct uniform and using appropriate PPE
  • Management of reactive cleaning tasks; ensuring tasks are allocated and closed out within time and keeping deductions to a minimum
  • Deal with emergency situations e.g. flooding, burst pipes etc. Assess situations, determine course of action to resolve, contacting contractors for site visits. Ensure communication with Site Manager
  • Always Maintain H&S to a high standard and ensure site safety procedures; COSHH, check method statements, risk assessments and instructions for all tasks on site
  • As required by the Site Manager, carry out/arrange cleaning staff training and Tool Box Talks
  • Attend training as required by management
  • Report damages, spillages and breakages, including gathering evidence
  • Carry out any other reasonable request by Senior Management.

Required:

  • Cleaning experience, ideally with education sector
  • Experience in settings cleaning rosters
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience of leading teams
  • Able to prioritise workloads
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise workloads
  • Being first aid trained is desirable but not essential
