An Amazing opportunity has arisen for a Production Schedular to work full time at our client's site in Cheadle. The working hours are 08:00am - 16:30pm Monday to Thursday & 08:00am - 13:00pm on Friday, paying £15 per hour. This role is due to run initially for 3 months with the potential for an extension to 6 months & further.
Our client invents and manufactures technologies that address some of the world's most critical challenges around energy, safety, security, productivity and global urbanization. This role, based in the Supply Chain department will cover all aspects of Production Planning.
Description/Responsibilities:
- Release of production orders to achieve the Shop floor schedule adherence
- Liaising with EMEA IAM Distribution Centre Personnel in Bucharest and France
- To be able to produce daily reports
- Establish priorities for Goods In, Quality Assurance and Production
- Answer queries from Production/Sales/Warehouse regarding issues with schedules and product availability
- Participate in planning meetings
- Utilise Six Sigma tools where appropriate & strive to continually improve the quality of service provided to customers.
Key Success Factors:
- The ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Ensure metrics are adhered to and ability to show root cause analysis of any deviation
- Release production orders to ensure Shop floor schedule adherence
- Improvement of existing planning methods
- Strive to achieve maximum level of customer service(OTTR) through planning and release of the MPS

- Strong PC skills especially Access and Excel

Experience/Education Required/Sought:
- Educated up to 'A' level or higher or candidates from shop floor will be considered having demonstrated leadership skills
- Graduate preferred
- Knowledge of MPS and MRP
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques and exposure to Six Sigma
- 1-2 years' experience in a commercial environment
- Planning experience within the automotive/manufacturing sector is preferable
