Manpower are currently recruiting for a production/laboratory technician to work on an going basis on behalf of one of our technology research/development clients. This position will involve working in a laboratory environment for one of the leading suppliers of application-specific organic materials for electronic applications. (Driving LED, LCD, EPD and OLED devices.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and processing of Products in accordance to defined procedures and Production schedule
  • Chemical handling and blending on a 1L-20L scale
  • Perform Quality Control, Inspection and validation of raw materials and products
  • Processing and fulfilment of customer orders on time and in full
  • Maintain accurate records throughout the manufacturing cycle to ensure trace ability and Quality Assurance for our customers.
  • Perform maintenance and calibration of production equipment and analytical instruments
  • Packing and shipping of goods in compliance with ADR/IATA regulations
  • Perform regular stock counts and use the Kanban system to ensure production group have accurate inventory records and process resultant orders for stock replenishment
  • Liaise and coordinate with support functions to progress any production issues and ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications
  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams to implement new products and processes.
  • Support data analysis and root cause investigations to help resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Participate and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promote and participate in a positive and open reporting culture to work in a manner compliant to EH&S and Quality guidelines

Knowledge and Skills required

  • Higher Education certificate or significant industrial experience
  • Understanding of Quality Control methods and strong customer focus
  • A proactive attitude and ability to act as a role model for SmartKem values and work to the highest standards to ensure EHS and Quality criteria are always upheld.
  • A resilient and flexible individual with a passion to develop and improve processes, themselves and the team through a strong work ethic, commitment and as a good team player.
  • Be hands-on and be able to meet the physical and intellectual demands of the role.
  • Ability to understand written instructions and carry out necessary tasks to achieve objectives following agreed protocols and procedures.
  • Set themselves challenging goals and targets.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team to complete tasks and meet deadlines.

Experience

  • Experience of working both within a team and on an individual basis
  • Experience of working in a laboratory or in a clean room environment is desirable
  • Experience of working in a fast-moving manufacturing organisation and working knowledge of best practice -GMP/GLP, Lean/6σ is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills including oral, verbal and PC literate.

Hours worked will be Monday- Friday between 8am-5pm on an ongoing basis.
