Manpower is currently recruiting for a Support Analyst to work on a temporary assignment within a local authority based in Chichester. This is a full-time position starting ASAP until 7th February 2020.

The Independent Living Service (ILS) helps people with impairments to live more independent, productive lives carrying out essential daily activities in a wide variety of settings. The service plays a leading role in the development of assistive technology and other such preventative services that are part of the underpinning structure for the delivery of care and health support.

You will provide reliable, flexible support to a range of teams, as well as engaging in day-to-day liaison with contracted service providers.

You will be conducting a high level of administrative duties relating to the delivery of a specialist financial service, such as responding to queries and complaints by members of the public, giving standard information and guidance relating to the service, maintaining records and producing standard correspondence and providing support according to set procedures.

You will process timely and accurate payments, invoices, or other financial administration tasks as instructed, using SAP or other large computerised financial systems.

You will also be responsible for accounting for large sums of money in the form of cash, cheques, direct debits, invoices or equivalent, through the monitoring of budgets, or authorisation of payments or invoices. Delegated direct responsibility for the appropriate and accurate handling and processing of payments and invoices relating to services as required.

You will respond independently to day to day telephone, email and written queries relating to the team specialism including using initiative to resolve unexpected problems where necessary. Providing financial advice and information to clients including members of the public and managers.

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Sound and accurate overall IT knowledge including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Some knowledge and awareness of accounting principles and/or the processes and systems associated with working within a financial environment is desirable
  • Sound and accurate overall awareness of the SharePoint data storage application is desirable
  • 4 GCSEs with A-C passes including Maths and English or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) part qualified at Foundation level NVQ 2 or studying towards an equivalent qualification or an interest in progressing with this qualification is desirable
