Manpower UK are currently recruiting on behalf of our reputable client for a Funding Officer to work within the European Social Fund delivering Financial Inclusion

Working as a key member of the European Social Fund - Delivering Financial Inclusion team you will provide a range of administrative and financial duties associated with ESF projects. You will focus on optimising support service delivery while working to ESF terms and conditions.

Job Purpose

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our ESF projects by building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the Scottish Government as the Managing Authority. You will act as the first point of contact for projects, providing clear advice and guidance and responding to issues, escalating for advice where appropriate.

You will administer post award financial management of projects including tracking spend against budget, allocating costs correctly, processing project changes, financial claims and assisting with reporting to the MA. In addition, you will provide standard reports and management information to inform management and MA decision making.

You will carry out detailed project planning to track and report on project progress and ensure timely planning of partner activities and key events such as project management progress review meetings, training events, workshops as required.

You will support programme delivery by organising, attending and helping to facilitate project meetings and events. Ensuring that actions, decisions, changes and risks are accurately recorded, tracked and enacted.

You'll be part of a team, led by a Funding Manager, and comprised of other Funding Officers

Person Specification

You will have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence to operate in a wide range of environments
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Confidence to use your judgement, take initiative and challenge when appropriate
  • Ability to cope with pressure and to react quickly to changing circumstances
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships
  • Ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision
  • Sound IT skills

Detailed knowledge of European funding and associated requirements.
