We are recruiting for a Production Manager on behalf of our client who are a leading manufacturer of components across a variety of industries.
Our client supply and export premium components to some world leading brands across sectors such as Automotive, Rail, Transport and Heavy Machinery sectors.
The Production Manager will oversee teams within a high-quality production environment, ensuring delivery, quality and health and safety standards are met.
Suitable candidates will have management experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably towards highly regulated products/ sectors.
We are looking for a pro-active and innovative manager who can help drive performance and take decisions that will support growth in to the future.
The Role:
- Ensure health & safety standard are adhered to as a priority, in addition to quality and environmental standards
- Manage any unsafe behaviours and ensure processes are followed, near miss/ accident investigations are completed with urgency
- Manage and coach teams to drive performance, undertake bi-annual appraisals and HR procedures/ disciplinary when required
- Manage team leaders and operators to achieve targets, providing necessary support to assist productivity
- Work with quality and maintenance teams on shift to maximise efficiency, PPM schedules and resolving any breakdowns on site, escalate as required
- Identify training and development opportunities and help coordinate
- Ensure that MPSs and Quality procedures are followed, and audit schedules adhered to
- Establish root causes of any scrap or rework issues and suggest corrective action plans
- Ensure all tool changes are reviewed in detail and investigations conducted into any substandard performance
- Ensure adherence to TPM schedule and escalate any issues
- Ensure cells adhere to production and despatch schedules, meeting times and standards, assigned by the Business Unit Managers
- Prioritise resources of multiple cells and support functions to ensure customer demands are met in line with business priorities.
- Ensure internal supply chains operate efficiently, to Quality standards and resolve any associated issues
- Monitor WIP and Stock levels as requested
- Understand and challenge teams on compliance to standard metrics e.g. Cost, efficiency, 5S, Scrap etc
- Ensure SFT, TVF, Handovers, Reports or other tools designed for the development of the company and its people are fully utilised
- Assist in the accurate recording/population/analysis of data as required
- Contribute to and lead business improvement projects
What we are looking for:
- Management experience within a manufacturing/ production environment
- Experience managing staff and leading successful production teams
- Preferably experience with regulated products/sectors and working to high quality standards
- Excellent communicator with organised approach to your workload
- Flexible to work day and late/evening shifts
