An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our global FMCG client (the powerhouse behind brands such as Walls, Persil, Magnum and Knorr) have an opening for a Finance Business Partner to be based on site in Gloucester. This is a full-time temporary role for 6 months, however there is the possibility that this could become permanent for the right candidate. Paying up to £45,000 pro rata, per annum (depending on experience), this role is to start ASAP.

Role Overview:

The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for in-year performance (together with the site leadership team and the Industrial Finance Manager for decision making support), value interventions and will also deliver savings through E2E cost initiatives and WCM. He/she will be accountable for keeping compliance of the site to the Unilever control framework. They will also be powered by a Country Make expertise team (MET) and shared services teams on main accounting, controlling and reporting tasks.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible with the Industrial Finance Manager for site in-year financial performance (cost/waste/capex), final creation and sign off of site forecast. This may also include collection of site specific data to be further processed by MET, e.g. cash flow forecasts.
  • Responsible with the Industrial Finance Manager for partnering site leadership team.
  • Responsible to ensure site on-ground controls are executed (ZBC, fixed assets, inventory, balance sheet).
  • Co-creates and co-drives savings agenda with operations and uses available industrial tools as support (WCM foundation, ZBB, benchmarking)
  • Signs off business plan budgets and month end closing for SU, supported by MET or shared services.
  • Supports ABC process led by SCFS.
  • Support decision making process with ad hoc data/analysis.
  • Implements processes/best practices as defined by capabilities team.
  • Optimises available shared resources (Industrial finance FET/ OC/ SCFS).
  • Actively interacts with site leadership team and operations on performance, controls and decisions.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong analytical mind set (previous Power BI experience desirable) and keen interest in IT side of analysis/interpretation of data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Rapidly absorbs new information, knowledge and applies new techniques, technology and procedures.
  • Ability to drive performance, manage risks, collaborate and decision make.
  • Demonstrate an ability to think beyond the immediate next step.
  • SAP experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Finance/Accounting/Business degree (or similar) required.
