About the client

My client is a leading global provider of complex engineering services in a range of markets including UK defence.

Your main tasks will be to provide theoretical and practical training, responsibilities will include the following:

  • The delivery of technical T-23 training modules in line with course documentation.
  • To provide SME input to update training and course design as required.
  • The development of lesson plans and training sessions in accordance with pre-approved specifications. Ensuring course content is always current and evolves along with the advancement of technologies and equipment.
  • Creating written exams and practical assessments.
  • Coaching and mentoring, ensuring all trainees get the maximum benefit from the course.
  • Complying with all H&SE and PPE requirements as required.
  • Participation in delivering presentations to agencies and visitors

You will assist in the maintenance and development of the course, ensuring top quality instruction at all times. You will also be responsible for coaching and developing students including monitoring, appraisals, disciplinary and identifying special student needs and the delivery of remedial training as necessary.

The following is essential for a successful application:

  • Knowledge of systems used within the T-23 frigate (both analogue and fibre optic).
  • An understanding of the system architecture of a D86 rack and interconnected D86 systems.
  • LPD/LPH experience (MEPS, controls systems and system interlocks)
  • Fault finding using FIDA
  • Data recording using the DCAU

So who are they looking for?

To succeed in this role you will have been directly employed in a Marine Electrical or Electronic Engineering environment within the last 5 years. Ideal but not essential would be previous instructional experience in a military electrical and electronic environment.

Academically you will hold a minimum of an ONC/BTEC Level 3/NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject matter.

If you do not already hold a Level 4 Teaching Qualification my client will provide accredited training for you upon a successful interview.
