Manpower are currently recruiting for X5 Manufacturing / Production staff to work for our national client based on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds. You will be joining at an exciting time as they look to expand their work force and become their UK's specialist site.

Part of the role will include metal reconditioning, loading and unloading trailers, machine operating loading and unloading of pallets and other repetitive manual handling tasks, and is based partially outside, under shelter, in all weathers.

Applicants will preferably have experience of working in a production environment, although full training will be given.

The ideal candidate will possess a positive, responsible attitude and be able to work as part of a team. You will also be reliable, have strong safety awareness, and be able to work using a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Good numeric and communication skills are also required, as is the ability to follow verbal instructions.

You will be working 42.5 hours a week with over time also available. Working hours are on a 2 weekly shift rotation ( Days and Late shifts )

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to a safety-first operation and incident-free workplace. Report any incident, injury or near miss and contribute to the hazard spot program.
  • Operate within and comply with all SHE, including expected PPE, guidance
  • Ensure understanding of standards in the cylinder reconditioning process
  • Segregate cylinders in line with mandatory specifications
  • Recondition cylinders in line with mandatory specifications
  • Scrap cylinders in line with mandatory specifications
  • Carry-out faulty cylinder investigation and reporting

This is long term work, and we offer 28 days holiday per year, a contributory pension scheme, and a subsidised canteen and free parking on site.

Please note that there is no public transport to the site, so your own transport is a must, and you must be over 18 years to work on site.
