About the role

Here at Babcock International, we are looking for a Senior Support Engineer. You will use our 'trusted to deliver' programme to deliver enhanced customer satisfaction, delivery of our MSDF cost savings and a progressive reduction in Type 23 LIFEX refit durations. You will also provide technical support and assistance to the Mechanical Production Manager including support with all aspects of T23 Planning and Bid phase.

You will manage and Control the 12 Week Lookahead process for Zone 2, reviewing and authorising Manageable Tasks. You will also review Risk Assessments and Method statements for Zone 2 tasks, providing the correct technical information.

Finally, you will line manage support engineers and have a high-level overview of System status and WiW control for Zone 2, as managed by direct report support engineers

This post is within the Surface Combatants Projects as part of the Warships Business Unit Devonport.

What do I need to do the role?

You will require the ability to interface with managers and customers and should be competent in verbal & written communications.

  • Commercial Awareness
  • PEPS
  • MS Project
  • Basic MS Excel
  • Computer literate

Qualifications: You will require HNC or equivalent level in an Engineering / Technical subject or as determined by the Project Manager due to previous relevant experience or a recognised Engineering / Technical Apprenticeship, other relevant experience may be considered by the Project Manager.

What else do I need to know?

The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
