About the role
Here at Babcock international we're looking for an Integrated Management Systems Manager to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.

The Business Management System (BMS) is an integral part of Devonport Royal Dockyard, providing the framework to deliver our customer and legal commitments in a safe and efficient manner.

As the Integrated Management Systems Manager you'll be the primary point of contact for the Devonport BMS; managing the administration governance and maintenance of the BMS and driving continual improvement through stakeholder engagement. You'll manage a team of system administrators to maintain our legal and contractual arrangements and be the primary point of contact for communicating changes to end users and senior leaders, facilitating workshops to embed behavioural changes and delivering BMS update presentations to all levels within the organisation ensuring they receive a good level of service from the BMS admin team. This includes the provision of advice and guidance regarding its content and assistance/mediation in the resolution of feedback.

Lastly, you'll be responsible for ensuring a consistent approach to the development, implementation and improvement of BMS training, electronic learning and user guides across Devonport and manage the production and analysis of management system data, developing and maintaining performance indicators and monthly insight.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll hold an HNC or equivalent in a business related discipline.

We would also like you to have the following:

  • Demonstrable experience in the management and leadership of teams to achieve organisational goals.
  • Working knowledge of Management System Standards such as ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
  • Able to engage in meaningful dialog with end users to communicate system controls, requirements, changes and be receptive to feedback and challenge.
  • Working knowledge of Agility and QPulse software packages.
  • Use of factual data to identify and promote improvement opportunities

Lastly, you'll be able engage with senior management and communicate to them the risks and potential impacts associated with legal and regulatory BMS system non-compliance.

What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.

We are happy to talk about flexible working. Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview.
