Job Details

We have an immediate, full-time position available for a Cremator Technician to join our team in Exeter.

As a Cremator Technician, your role is to maintain a high standard working environment and oversee the operation of gas-fired / electric cremators and ancillary equipment, while reflecting excellent standards of care and sensitivity. There is no contact with the deceased in this role however there is a requirement to be comfortable working in this type of environment.

What you’ll need to do:

  • Operate the cremators and ancillary equipment in accordance with manufactures guidelines               
  • Input & maintain records on computer to comply with industry regulations
  • Ensure the safe custody of ashes in the care of the crematorium
  • Be aware of and sensitive to the needs of the bereaved
  • Full training for qualification is provided

What we’ll need from you:        

  • Good attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a team or independently
  • Physically capable of lifting the coffin with support provided 
  • Supply the necessary documentation for a full DBS check 
  • Driving licence preferable however not essential


  • 22 days holiday plus 8 days bank holiday
