Warehouse Operatives Wanted!

Manpower are currently looking for a number of Warehouse Operatives for our well-established client based in the postcode DE655BY!

Working in busy alcoholic drinks warehouse for Diageo (Diageo are world`s largest drinks manufacturer, with brands such as Guinness, Gordon`s Gin, Bells Whisky.

Working on a 3-shift rotation of Days (6am-2pm), Nights (10pm-6am) and Afternoons (2pm-10pm). Will be expected to be on shift 10 mins early for shift briefing but will finish 10-15 before end of shift to allow for Hand washing, collecting bags, etc).

Contract will run up until Christmas & potentially beyond then in 2021

About the role

Full training (3 days, will be given on PPT & LLOP trucks, warehouse management system, etc).

£9.72 per hour for first 12 weeks - Overtime after 40 is paid at 25% of base rate of £8.78 (so will be £10.98 per hour)

£10.54 per hour after 12 weeks - Overtime as above still, so £10.98 per hour

30 minutes unpaid break for first 12 weeks

30 minutes PAID break after 12 weeks

Main Job Duties

  • Loading and unloading trailers on bays using PPT to load pallets (No handball)
  • Stock Movements of bulk pallets around various locations within warehouse
  • Order Picking, both full pallets (using PPT) and case picking for slower moving lines (using LLOP) - Approximately 70% of orders are bulk picks, but will need to be able to pick cases of wines & spirits from bay locations, so will involve physical lifting in the areas onto LLOP Pallets.
  • Using basic computer operation (but again, full training given).

All staff must wear safety footwear and hi viz.

Onsite there is a canteen area with vending machines, microwaves, fridges and kettles.

The warehouse is very Security conscious as it is a bonded warehouse, so subject to searches at any time, especially on way into site and on exit at the end of shift. There are CCTV Cameras, both visible and covert, so ensure that any incident/near miss is reported.

All successful candidates must be able to provide 3 full years' work history and have photo ID, you will also need good literacy and numeracy skills and be computer literate, you will also need excellent communication skills, be able to work in a team and have problem solving ability.
