About the Role
Here at Babcock International we're looking for a Project Engineer to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.

The Facilities Engineering Programme Management Office (FE-PMO) provides a planning and project controls service to the Facilities Engineering design team. As a Project Engineer you'll provide an interface between the internal customer and design / safety engineering teams.

Using your experience in facility upgrade or construction projects you will expedite the project initiation process and support the estimation of work packages. You'll also assist with the correct data set being captured in the Engineering services Facility Annual Plan, whilst monitoring/Reporting progress throughout the project lifecycle, up to and including close out and capturing of LfE.

This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career and assist in the delivery of Defence design and safety engineering projects, with opportunities for further development and progression within the Company.

What do I need to be able to do the role?
You'll need an HNC / HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline or suitable appropriate experience in Project Engineering / Project Controls. Project management qualifications (APM / Prince 2) would be highly advantageous.

We would also like you to have demonstrable experience in facility upgrade or construction projects, and stakeholder engagement. Primavera (P6) knowledge is also highly desirable.

Lastly, you'll need effective writing and presentation skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.

What else do I need to know?
*The successful candidate will hold, or be eligible to acquire, national Security Clearance at the appropriate level for this post.
