Resource Lead
Cavendish Nuclear
Warrington

About the role

Here at Cavendish Nuclear, we are proud to be the UK's leading supplier to the nuclear industry and a growing global force. The breadth of our expertise means we are able to offer unrivalled experience and specialist knowledge across all aspects of the nuclear energy life cycle, from design and build, through operations and maintenance, to decommissioning, waste management and remediation.

As our workforce is rapidly growing, we are looking for a Resource Lead to join the team at Warrington and be responsible for all resource forecasting and planning activities across a number of business units, as well as taking a regional view (North, Midlands or South). This role will be responsible for collating all inputs for forward looking resource requirements and manage a database of all resources to enable effective resource deployment.

As the Resource Lead, you will work closely with the Business Unit Director and Hiring Manager(s) to ensure that all resources are deployed efficiently and that the Business Unit has a robust forecast of resource demand (with priority on a 12 month view of delivery requirements, but also providing input into the longer term strategic resource planning process). You will operate collaboratively across the entirety of Cavendish Nuclear with other Resource Leads to understand resource demand and to move resources around to best suit both Business Unit and business objectives as a whole.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meeting the immediate (time horizon of 0 to 12 months) tactical resourcing requirements for the Business Unit through working with HR
  • Managing the database for all near term resource allocation and utilisation and tracking live changes
  • Collating and submitting the long term resource requirement for the business unit to the Head of Strategic Resourcing
  • Ensuring resources are deployed in an efficient and timely manner into the business unit
  • Highlighting under-utilisation issues and ensuring resolution within the project and services areas
  • Working in conjunction with the Head of Strategic Resourcing and Human Resources to manage business unit, functional and location specific attrition by creating and delivering staff retention strategies
  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of resourcing solutions and strategies for the business unit in conjunction with the Head of Strategic Resourcing and Human Resources
  • Collating and managing resource deployment data to provide Business Unit Directors clear information to make resource deployment and recruitment decisions
  • Being responsible for the business unit utilisation rate

As well as working for the most high-profile nuclear organisation in the UK, we also offer a supportive work environment where innovation is at the heart of what we do.

What do I need to do the role?

You will have a background in resource management and a good understanding of complex projects to utilise resource. Strong stakeholder engagement capability and project management skills. Also, experience of working collaboratively to balance competing demands and priorities.

We are looking for a proactive individual with an analytical mind-set and the ability to manipulate and interpret data. A driven individual who is able to successfully build relationships and negotiate to deliver results. A lateral thinker and self-starter with ability to be innovative and challenge redundant practices. In addition, willing and able to act on initiative within pre-defined constraints.

Any HR or Project Management qualifications are beneficial but not essential.

What else do I need to know?

You will work 37 hours per week and we offer flexible working. Ideally, we are looking for this position to be based from our office in Warrington, however, we can offer an alternate base for work including Bristol and Cumbria. In addition, you must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
