P6 Planner

About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a P6 Planner to assist with the creation and updating of resource loaded project programmes using Primavera P6 Planning software in accordance with Babcock and Network Rail procedures and the coordination of project management activities.

Responsibilities include:
* Hold regular reviews with the Construction / Project Managers and Access Planners within their assigned area to monitor job deliverables against plan, circulating work-to-do lists and actions or recovery plans as required, and to provide 'look ahead' information.
* Assist with the production of medium and long term resource plans for the forecasting of resource requirements, secured and anticipated workloads.
* Assist with the Company's implementation and development of its Primavera and IFS products, ensuring use in compliance with user guides.
* Provide Northern Ireland Railways (NIR) with updated programmes and information and support the creation of management reports as directed.

This is an exciting opportunity working on projects ranging from £200k - £3m. Managing multiple planning programmes at any one time with full training provided on how to use P6 Planning software.

There is also excellent career path opportunities to progress into a more senior role within the Planning team.

What do I need to do the role?

You will have experience of working within a project planning or project management role, ideally within an engineering or construction related environment but will also consider other industry sectors.

You will also have the ability to manage multiple projects at any one time.

Experience of using Microsoft Projects or another project planning software would be a distinct advantage.

What else do I need to know?

The role will be based remotely from home initially due to COVID restrictions but formerly based in either Derry-Londonderry office or Belfast office, happy to consider either locations.

Travel will be required to Rail sites across Norther Ireland with some visits to head office in Glasgow, possible overnight stays required but very few.
