Job Details

Infrastructure Technician

Job Function:

  • Operational involvement in the processing of outbound Storage Solutions, Networking equipment, Industry Standard Servers, HP RX & PA Servers, and Alpha Legacy servers
  • Provides technical support to inbound data sanitisation and test processes
  • Determines processing requirements for both inbound and outbound products based on established guidelines and processes
  • Ensures operational efficiency within the business processes whilst maintaining the highest level of Quality

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Execute both manual and automated test processes for customer hardware orders
  • Ensure that order processing meets or exceeds business agreed performance levels
  • Accurately maintain processing records
  • Contribute to the definition, development and documentation of test processes as business needs present
  • Continuous personal professional development to pace evolving technology challenges
  • Provide L2 support for the inbound business sanitization and test processes
  • Escalate/liaise with engineering on issues affecting production
  • Accurately communicate the status of orders within the out-bound final configuration and test processes
  • The retest and analysis of customer returns

Preferred knowledge and skills required:

  • Minimum of an HND in an Electronic or Computing related discipline
  • 5+ years' experience working in a similar role within a manufacturing or service environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member
  • Strong technical knowledge of Networking and storage systems and their architectures
  • Knowledge of common industry data sanitisation techniques and applicable standards
  • Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate challenges, statuses, analysis results, and appropriate solutions where possible

Other beneficial knowledge and skills:

  • Experience with HPE Procurve, HPE Aruba and CISCO networking; HP MSA, HP EVA, HP XP, HP MSA and HPE 3PAR Storage Solutions
  • Experience with Industry Standard or Business Critical Servers
  • Experience of any of the following operating environments - Linux, HP-UX or OpenVMS
  • Scripting ability to aid task simplification and automation
