Manpower UK Ltd have a fantastic opportunity for an electrically biased Instrumentation Engineer to join an innovative Research and Development Centre of Excellence in the North East

The Role

As our clients Instrumentation Engineer you will manage the instrumentation and calibration requirements of their Test and Validation division ensuring testing processes meet customer requirements and are compliant with accreditation standards.

In this role you will be

  • Ensuring the accurate setup of test pieces
  • Ensuring that equipment / systems within the facilities meet the required stand
  • Organising and delivering diagnostic activities on electrical, mechanical, electronic, instrumentation, and data logging equipment,
  • Identifying the root cause of any issues and finding workable solutions where necessary.
  • Working as an integral part of the Test and Validation department and involved with testing, design, development, tender preparation/evaluation, budget preparation/review and customer and supplier interface

To be considered for this role you will

  • Have a proven track record of working in a similar position
  • Have good working knowledge of specifications, installation, testing and fault finding of instrumentation used to measure current, voltage, strain, temperature, pressure, acceleration and force
  • Have experience of working with PLC's particularly Allen Bradley and Siemens
  • Have strong data analysis skills

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

  • Educated to at least degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of and the application of good practice engineering design procedures and tools
  • Capable of writing detailed technical reports and communicating test results to non-technical personnel
  • Good understanding and experience of H&S legislation applicable to offshore operations, while working in OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 17025 environments.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Motivated and a strong team player, able to work in collaborative team environments across multiple site locations

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer or working toward Chartership with a recognised engineering
  • Experience of LabVIEW, DIAdem, Perception and MATLAB software including HBM and National Instruments hardware
