Commercial Assistant - Rail
Hamilton, Glasgow

About the role

Here at Babcock International, we're looking to recruit a Commercial Assistant to support the Rail commercial team by providing a commercial administration service of the Rail Alliance contract (or contracts) to deliver or improve the agreed profitability and cash projections. This role would suit someone looking to secure their first step into into a Quantity Surveying role.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to delivering or improving on agreed profitability and cash collections targets
  • Preparing Scope Variations, Adjustment Events and applications for payment in a timely manner for review and submission to the client
  • Provide support, from commencement to completion, the provision of all commercial deliverables in line with contract requirements and timescales (including supply chain contracts)
  • Monitoring the production of records, correspondence and documentation required to strengthen the Alliances commercial position.

This is an exciting opportunity working as part of the Rail Systems Alliance and potential promotion opportunities available for the right individual.

What do I need to do the role?

You will be degree educated ideally in Quantity Surveying or a Construction/Rail related subject, other degree subjects will also be considered and you are looking to secure your first position in a Quantity Surveying career path.

You will also be an effective communicator (both written and verbal), and have demonstrable experience in commercial negotiation.

This role could suit someone looking for their first steps into a Quantity Surveying position with a recognised Engineering organisation
